CoolSculpting treatment plans can vary widely depending on your goals, your body type, and the experience of your clinicians. Let’s walk over what goes into a treatment plan and why your CoolSculpting experience may be different form someone else’s.

No Two Treatments are the Same
It’s a common misconception for a lot of cosmetic procedures that there’s a flat price and a set treatment plan that works for everyone. This kind of assembly-line, cookie-cutter treatment is not what we do here – and it’s not what anyone should do if they want good results! The treatment plan that worked for someone else may not be right for you.
Whether it’s a BBL, liposuction or CoolSculpting, cosmetic procedures need to consider many factors including body type, client goals and the treatment area itself. They also need to consider the body as a whole and how you’ll look post-treatment. That’s why developing a proper treatment plan that will help you reach your goals requires a consultation. CoolSculpting is not a drive-thru – you can’t just say, “One CoolSculpting please!”
The Factors that Determine Your Treatment Plan
We’ve listed four major factors that help determine the right treatment plan for you – but there are even more factors that your CoolSculpting clinician will take into consideration when building your treatment plan, like your personal health history.
Your Body Type
One of the first things to consider is your body. Are you short and slender, or tall but svelte? A more petite woman may be able to use smaller applicators, while a larger man may need a larger applicator! It seems like common sense, but it’s often not. The applicator must properly cover the area we want to treat, which means selecting the right tools for the job.
The Treatment Area
Are you wanting to reduce fat in your inner thighs, abdomen, chin? Somewhere else? The treatment plan your clinician develops is going to depend a lot on the area you want treated. Some areas like the outer thigh where fat is less “pinchable” may require specific applicators to treat properly. In addition, the size of the area itself will also play a role in helping determine the number of applicators needed. If you want your love handles reduced and you’re a bigger person, you may need two or even three applicators total to ensure we treat the full area – otherwise you could be left with a “shelving” effect.
How the Fat Presents
People store fat differently. When we’re in a consultation, we look for the “peaks” of fat to determine the optimal placement – which is extremely important to ensuring you get the best results! In addition to placement of individual applicators, we also look at the size and location of the fat. The saying that “one is always bigger than the other” is true for arms, legs, flanks, male chest – really anything you have two of. That means your clinician may recommend treating one side more than the other if your goal is a more symmetrical appearance.
Your Fat Reduction Goals
CoolSculpting is all about your goals – which means knowing what kind of results you want. CoolSculpting offers a 20-25% reduction of fat in the treated area. If you want to reduce fat in the area even more, then you may need to come in for multiple treatments. We want all of our clients to be satisfied with their results and will let you know upfront whether CoolSculpting is the right procedure for you.
